Spee-Dee® Features Innovative Split Hopper At Pack Expo Las Vegas



Sturtevant, Wis. — James P. Navin, President of Spee-Dee® Packaging Machinery, Inc., announced that the company’s innovative Split Hopper was featured at Pack Expo Las Vegas. “Spee-Dee is extremely proud to be the first U.S. company to offer a split hopper system that promotes fast and simple product changeover, cleanup and maintenance. This will enable our customers to experience immediate bottom line savings in the form of reduced labor costs and a decrease in costly equipment downtime,” Navin commented.

Timm Johnson, Vice President, Sales/Marketing, was quick to differentiate the Spee-Dee system from competing units. “The superior Spee-Dee Split Hopper design features an extremely durable and easy to maintain 304 stainless steel construction that is in sharp contrast to the aluminum models produced by our foreign competitors,” he revealed. As an added bonus, Spee-Dee’s patented sliding key tooling adapter is conveniently provided as standard equipment. “The adapter allows operators to quickly and easily install and remove tooling without tools, a significant timesaver,” Johnson explained. “And, due to the elimination of set collars and Allen screws, we’ve also significantly reduced the risk of product contamination,” he concluded.

To ensure worker safety, all Split Hopper units include a safety interlock switch that prevents the machine from operating when the hopper is open. The Split Hopper, which is 22" in diameter and 20" in height, features a 16 gallon hopper and accepts all standard tooling.
